Knight-Swift Selected to Haul 2025 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree
CARSON CITY, Nev. (October 2025) — Knight-Swift Transportation (Knight-Swift), North America’s largest full truckload carrier, has been selected to transport the 2025 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree, lovingly nicknamed Silver Belle. The tree will be harvested from the Carson Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in Nevada and make its way to Washington, D.C., with celebratory stops in communities along the route.
As part of the more than 50-year-old holiday tradition known as the “People’s Tree,” the tree will embark on a nearly 3,000-mile journey, making stops at local celebrations and community events along the route to share the spirit of the season.
Knight-Swift was chosen as the hauler for this year’s tree at the recommendation of Kenworth Truck Company, a long-standing sponsor of the initiative, based on its exceptional safety record and industry leadership.

This year’s driver, Michael Porter, based at Swift Transportation’s Phoenix Arizona Terminal, brings an enthusiasm for driving and a reputation for professionalism and service. Porter will proudly deliver Silver Belle across the nation, sharing the spirit of the holidays with communities from Nevada to Washington, D.C. Knight-Swift will haul the tree, while Southwest Airlines will help transport thousands of handmade ornaments created by Nevadans. Kenworth Truck Company will once again provide a specially decaled Kenworth T680 equipped with a 76-inch sleeper to haul the tree, outfitted with the latest PACCAR powertrain, the latest in driver assistance systems and driving amenities.
